About Us : 2IIM

2IIM, the CAT Preparation division of Ascent Education is an IIM Alumnus initiative. 2IIM provides classroom preparation courses, comprehensive study material for CAT in the form of correspondence courses and online preparatory aids for CAT (the Common Admission Test to the IIMs).

Started in 2001 by Mr. K S Baskar, an IIM Calcutta alumnus we have been providing assistance for CAT preparation. Since 2002, each year over 15% of our students make it to the top B schools in India viz., the six IIMs.

2IIM focuses on CAT training and offers CAT Classroom courses in the city of Chennai, India. As part of its online and distance education programs for CAT, 2IIM offers comprehensive study material for all sections of CAT. 2IIM also offers 30 full length CAT practice tests. Our online offering includes eBooks for specific hard topics in CAT Math.

2IIM offers the following courses and preparatory aids to assist you with your CAT Preparation:

Intensive CAT Classroom Program

We conduct Intensive CAT classes at Chennai for CAT. Batch size consciously kept small to ensure that you get personal attention. Faculty members include graduates from top B Schools such as the IIMs, XLRI, XIM Bhubaneswar. Comprehensive study material in verbal, quantitative reasoning, data interpretation and reasoning is provided. The program also includes 30 full length practice tests, 10 of which are administered at the classs. You have three different options to choose from.

CAT Correspondence Programs

If you reside outside Chennai, either in other parts of India or outside India, you can sign up for 2IIM's comprehensive CAT preparatory material. The study material has been prepared and vetted by IIM Graduates. Includes basic refresher material on all areas tested in CAT viz., Math, Verbal, Data Interpreation and reasoning. The course material includes section wise tests and 30 comprehensive full length tests. The last 10 of these 30 tests are Mock CATs. These Mock CATs closely reflect the pattern of questions that appeared in CAT in the previous three years.

eBooks for CAT Quant Section

Topic wise, easy to download eBooks on tough topics in CAT Math. At present there are three eBooks on the following topics - Number theory, Permutation combination and Geometry. Each of these eBooks are priced at USD 5.99.

PGSEM Test Correspondence Course

The PGSEM (Post Graduate in Software Enterprise Management) test conducted by IIM Bangalore for admission to its PGSEM program is similar to the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the IIMs for their flagship PGP programs.

The correspondence course study material that 2IIM offers for PGSEM provides comprehensive study material and is self explanatory. It covers all areas that are tested in the PGSEM Entrance Test. The preparatory material also includes 10 full length CAT practice tests with answers and explanation.

Classes for IIM CAT's Group Discussion & Personal Interview

Intensive training classes for IIM and top B School Group Discussions and personal interview commence in the first week of January each year. This 7 to 8 weekend long program includes concept classes in topics such as economy, stock market, financial markets, practice GDs and Mock Interviews to help you crack the GD and PI process of the IIMs.

Questionbank, Mailing Lists, Discussion Forums for CAT

Registered users receive information related to CAT preparation and preparatory questions by e-mail, free of cost. Detailed solutions, shortcut tips and answers are provided to the questions. Questions that are sent through the mailing list appear from a wide array of topics that typically appear in the CAT test. There is an active Discussion forum where CAT related discussion take place.
